Our Sacred River (Ang Aming Munting Ilog)
A day in the lives of minorities living along Pulangi River
The Pulangi River is located near Maramag in Bukidnon province on the island of Mindanao. Situated along this river from Cabanglasan to Cotobato City are lumad communities that look upon the river as their source of livelihood. One of them is Brgy. Sanepun, a community which is greatly affected from the Megadam V project.
The story of the Mahinay family also reflects the great injustice brought about by the Dam IV that started around two decades ago. Through the continued efforts of Datu Nilo Cabungkal, secretary general of the Save Pulangi Alliance, the lumad communities along this river strive to fight back collectively to save their lands.
